Kristine Leaman, Rector
WELCOME TO ST. MARK’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH!
I am Reverend Kristine Leaman and have been at St. Mark’s sinceDecember 2019, called to be priest in charge in August of 2019 and called as permanent rector in October 2021. St. Mark’s is a vibrant and caring community in the heart of Fort Dodge where we honor God through our various services and ministries. We honor Christ by serving others in numerous ministries including The Lord’s Cupboard food pantry, Manna Meal, UDMO, Lotus, Prison Ministry, Almost Home no-kill shelter, and many others. Our newest ministry is our Community Cupboard where we provide non-perishable foods and hygiene items not covered by SNAP. I have been delighted to report that I have found community members have been donating to our cupboard!
I am a Mason City native and being new to Fort Dodge, I have found the community very warm and welcoming. In addition to serving St. Mark’s, I serve on Rotary, and the hospital board in town. My husband, Jay and I have an electrical contracting business in Mason City and Jay spends his time back and forth between here and there. My faithful friend, Bernie the Episcopup, usually accompanies me to church during the week, greeting folks who come in. He also gets treats from our admin-assistant, Mary and from our bookkeeper. I have been very blessed to have been called to serve at St. Mark’s. Coming through our doors, you will also be warmly welcomed. I hope you will come experience our hospitality, our beautiful music, and our rich worship service for yourselves while we all give thanks and worship God.
Bernie the Episcopup Welcomes You!
Most everyday during the week, Bernie takes up residence in the administrative offices and is usually found napping on Reverend Kris’ foot. He enjoys chasing a ball and is particularly fond of chewing on bones and of course, taking a nap. Bern’s a little shy at first but before long, he is welcoming a visitor, jumping up and down then laying on a foot, chewing his bone.
