Wahkonsa Dinner

Each year, St. Mark's takes its turn to serve the Wahkonsa dinner for the disabled.  Donations of food and paper products are much needed.  The paper products are used for Bingo prizes.  Donations of paper towels, toilet paper (4 roll pack) napkins and small trash bags are greatly appreciated.   The items donated are things they cannot purchase with food stamps.  They are given any food left over from the dinner.  Wahkonsa Manor is a Fort Dodge hotel where many disabled people reside.  Each month a church in the community serves dinner on the last Saturday of the month.  Volunteers are always needed to serve and clean up.

YOUNKER’S COMMUNITY DAY SALE

PAY $5.00 FOR $10.00 OFF - Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007

St Mark’s parishioners sell booklets for the sale.  The booklets are sold for $5.00 each.  The booklet purchaser receives $10.00 off one individual item purchased on the sale day + eight 20% off coupons.  The Baby’s Room Account of the Human Needs Commission retains the $5.00 from each booklet sold.

Purchases at Younkers with the $10.00 off coupon or 20% off coupons can be made the week before Community Day, but you must charge your items and pick them up on Community Day.

To qualify to sell tickets at Younkers on the day of the sale (which allows us to raise even more funds!), St Mark’s Human Needs Commission must sell 50 tickets by 11/02/07, have volunteers sell tickets at Younkers for at least 2 hours on a day prior to the sale + be in the top 25% of sellers.

This is one of the main fund-raisers for The Baby’s Room.  If you are able to sell tickets to friends, family or co-workers, please contact Cheri Crimmins.  There are also tickets in the parish office.  Please consider doing some shopping on Community Day and make your booklet purchases through St Mark’s.
